The competition provides specific tests with extremely tight margins: for example the temperature must be kept at 24 ° C with a maximum swing of a degree. To achieve these standards is necessary to have a general installations extremely reliable, but also small, since it must be contained in the three-dimensional box in the center of the house.

For best results and reduce consumption, is of primary importance that the passive system of the building (envelope, glazing and shading devices) work best in order to minimize the use of "active" systems.
It's essential to use a control logic that is able to manage the complexity of the interaction energy between the interior and exterior, both automatically and that can leaving the user free to manage their devices.
The project aims to create a delivery system and a control system that is synergic with the house and its users.
Despite an excellent operation of the passive system, which allows a good control of temperature and humidity levels during the year, however, requires a good amount of energy for the appliances.
The solar energy needed will be produced by photovoltaic panels. In the project we are evaluating different solutions for the photovoltaic panels: we want them well integrated with the architecture of the building.
