The Trenitalia Company is now our Official Carrier!
Thanks to the collaboration of Trenitalia, the team will be able to transport the Med in Italy's house right up to Madrid and then back to Bologna!
The Rail Transport is one of the best way to defend the ecosystem. In fact, Trenitalia is committed to a very impressive policy of environmental security.
Firstly the enhancement of lines and nodes. As a result of increases in rail capacity of the order of 30%, were achieved savings of approximately 2.5 million tons. of CO2 per year.
Secondly, the reduction of energy consumption. The Railenergy project allows an assisted and continuously monitored guide of the train, minimizing the perception of braking and starts, without affecting the punctuality. This program, when fully implemented, will bring savings of 10% of electricity for traction with the reduction of 133,020 tons of CO2 and savings of about ten million.
Finally introducing the Traveling Motorway. This project involves transport of trucks on special wagons, eliminating the noise impact, traffic congestion and emissions into the atmosphere mainly caused by the transport on heavy vehicles. Only with the initiative "Train Alpine Highway" (AFA), initiated in 2004 between France and Italy through the pass of Frejus, CO2 emissions have been reduced by 600 tonnes / year.
For noise abatement, in addition, the Italian Railway Network has developed, among the first European network operators, noise maps of the area, anticipating by more than five years the time limit set by EU Directives.
Besides the various other initiatives, Trenitalia has now agreed a partnership with Med in Italy, bringing on some freight wagons the various parts of the prefabricated house.
This contribution shows the great attention and interest that trenitalia has developed in sustainable energy activities. To help Med in Italy means to help research to develop more and more to get results that lead to a better future for us all.
