The building where i live is located in Terni (Umbria) , in Ludovico Antonio Muratori street. He finds near the train station, not too far from the centre of the city.
The neighborhood was mostly built in the 50's years, this is clear when looking at the type of materials, the style and the heights of the buldings, with the exception of the building closet to mine that is much more recent, taller and with different materials.
The building has E-ES - W-WN (East-East South ; West- West North) axis orientation, this information will be useful for the analysis of shadows. The building is a rectagular volume composed by four floor.
For the analysis of shadows i focused on the E-ES edge of the building because is the most illustrative.
The photos were taken on march 15 at 9:45 am , 11:45 am and 16:30 pm.
At 9:45 am we can see that two sides of the building are fully lit, the only to be overshadowed are the way and the norh facade.
At 11:45 am the shadow moved along the south facade but stops mostly ground floor, the road is partially illminated.
At 16:30 pm the sun is starting to come down, it is almost entirely in the shade, except the South facade still partially lit.
The three pines have no effect on the facade because still too small.
I have notice how the principal room of my house always have a good daytime lighting, both in summer and winter, more than all the living room, located in the edge that i chose for the picture. While te service space that do not require a lot of light are north. I think that good daytime lighting is esured by distance between buildings and the fact that they are all more or less the same height.
