The apartment analyzed is located on the 5th floor of a building in G. Volpato Street, near the bridge of the Trastevere Station and Marconi Avenue. The building appears isolated in an area composed mainly by buildings of 6 or 8 floors. The east side face of the flat is on in G. Volpato Street, while the south one watches on a private street.
The conditions of sun-lighting depend on the presence of high buildings (8 floors) right in front of the east side. The apartment is not affected by the light in the north and west side. In fact, on the west side it is shaded by other buildings and the north face is always entirely shaded because of its own position. The flat is composed by a living room on the south side, a kitchen and two bedrooms which are all exposed on east side. We can see that the south side of the flat is well exposed all day until sunset and allow to enjoy a good light during the day. The east side is well illuminated in the morning, while from the early afternoon the east face is in shadow. After the analysis we can make some simple considerations about living in the apartment: the good location of the flat makes it very well illuminated throughout the day.
