PROCESS

Step 1: Start by opening Autodesk Vasari

Step 2: Click on new project

Step 3: Change the units of measure of the project from inches to meters, through the command Manage--->Project Units

Step 4: Click on Analyze--->Location and load the frame of the area, then enter the address of the request area and click on Import view

Step 5: Click on Model--->Create mass for create volumes. Create a closed line around the building and extrude the surface obtained by clicking directly on the form and drag the blue arrow that appears. The height can be changed by clicking on the measure written on Z axis

Step 6: Select the two icons at the bottom of the screen to the left sun path on and shadows on. Select Manage - Sun Settings and enter the date and time requested

Step 7: Compare the model obtained with photos.

The specific building is located in Via Pier Luigi Nervi 280 in Latina.

The building has an L-shape and is exposed to the south-east. From studies with Vasari is known that one of the two wings of the L is always illuminated, while the other part (the one facing east) is in the shade in the afternoon.

The photos were taken at 9:20 am. I also wanted to study the behavior of the afternoon sun, but I could not take the picture at that time.
