I have the most detailed model of my building to Vasari to analyze the solar radiation.I performed the analysis in the months of the year that is most significant in the equinox of spring and in the Fall and Winter and summer soltice.
SPRING EQUINOXFALL EQUINOXWINTER SOLSTICESUMMER SOLSTICEThis study has confirmed what I had assumed from the analysis of shadows. In fact, the building roesent a good sunshine on the south side and a bad sunshine on the north. This is evident from the pictures where you see the south face colored with a color ranging from red to yellow to mind the north throughout the year is always colored blue.Hill has helped to worsen the sunshine on the north side of the apartment which is located on the ground floor of the building.GROUND FLOOR NORTH FACEThe humidity and the lack of sunshine have made possible the rapid deterioration of the plaster of the wall. The moss was seized with impunity travertine pedestal of the building and the sidewalk making a mockery of the sun, which does not want to hear about the switch on the lower floors of the north front of the building.

Moss has created a "vertical garden" on the wall of the hill while being willing to south is never reached by sunlight for the shadow cast by the building.Moss has also taken possession of all those spaces where the sun can not just get there as the corners of the balconies or under the sloping roof of the buiding. The east front has not been spared from the moss has taken over the gable of the building.I noticed that the brick curtain s is more deteriorated on the north side. In fact, it is more rough and in places has a biological patina. The brick walls on the south side instead is smooth and smooth.
BRICK CURTAIN NORTH
BRICK CURTAIN SOUTH
In short, I could verify that it was the winning choice of designers to have the rooms on the south side of the building and the services on the north of the building. The rooms have a not too high solar radiation throughout the year thanks to the overhang of the building and the layout of the lot as you can see from the photos. The services arranged on the north face of climate act as a filter to the rooms. In fact the rooms are reasonably determined cool in summer and warm in winter. This cosente to limit the use of heaters or air conditioners. For example, the kitchen and the bano are located along the northern front of the apartment. These environments are used only in certain circumstances for this are not affected by the bad exposures. instead the living room, the dining room and one bedroom are located along the south front and divided from the rooms of the north face long corridor. These rooms do not only enjoy a good show, but thanks to the corridor are also isolated from the cold side of the house. For example Ia dining room gets a good light by a large opening to a balcony overlooking the flag. The sun's rays heat the low winter vetratain giving the room light and heat. The sun's rays are high partly shielded overhang from the balcony of the floor above in the summer. This allows you to have good lighting without which heats the glass and then the dining room. My home is on the second floor and then the home of the first floor and that of the third cooperate in heating my apartment when turning on their heating.

I like what your say, I think we can add one layer to your analysis,
that is,... light! How is it in the room you mention? When you say filter,
can you clarify? Rooms are oriented towards south, what is protecting them
in summer from direct radiation? Or you mean ventilation does the job?
It's getting hot so...let us know!
Fantastic post, congratulations.
