The Project area is situated near to Stazione Trastevere and overlook Viale Trastevere and Via Ettore Rolli.
Our Project must include:

  • 1500/2000 mq of services

  • 3000 mq for the apartments with 20% of distributional space.

Procedure

1. Model the area:

- Import the project area's location

- Create the contour lines and buildings in two different mass (“Preesistenze” and “Curve di Livello”)

       - Create the project hypothesis's mass

2. Rename and create new levels:

- Use the “level” tool in the tab “Model” To create new levels

- Create the principal heights' level (Project level +6.00, +0.00)

- Create the floors' levels (shops, first floor, second floor,... etc.)

3.  Divide the project mass using the levels

4. Analyze costs and benefits:

- Create a chart (Manage-> Schedules-> Schedules/Quantities)

- Add chart's fields in “Schedules Propieties”

- Insert a formula to obtain a new field in “Calculate Value”

5. Analyze Shadow and Solar Radiation for all the hypotheses.

First Hypothesis

Winter

Shadow

9.00: The North and west facades are totally in shadow.
12.00: The west facade begin to be in light except for the part with a triangular plant, the north facade is subjected to the shadows of the circumstant edifices.

16.00: The west facade is totally in light except for the lower part of the first body. The East part is totally in shadow

Solar Radiation

We can see from the analysis that there are problem especially in the northern and lower parts of the building.

The SO part receive the most of heat.

Summer

Shadow

8.00: The principal facade is totally in shadow, the ovest facade is all in light.

12.00: The East front is in shadow except for the two twin bodies,

18.00: The West part is almost totally in shadow but the est facade is enlight.

Solar radiation

The ovest front is not very hot, the north and est facades have an optimal situation but the Sud-west front receive a lot of heat.

Second Hypothesis

Winter

Shadow

9.00: The West facade is almost entirely in shadow but the East facade is enlightened in his top part.
12.00: The SE and West facades are enlightened but the positions of the building's different parts see that the East facade is totally in shadow.

16.00: the principal facade receive more light but the East facade is shaded.

Solar Radiation

The coefficent of the solar radiation of the north part is almost 0 Wh/mq, in the East facade the top of the building have coefficent near to 28521 Wh/mq. The second Body of edifice is really cold.

Summer

Shadow

8.00: The North and East facades are in light.

12.00: The south and East facades are shaded but the West facade is totally enlightened.

18.00: The North and West facades are shaded.

Solar radiation

The building is not very exposed to solar rays(in fact is almost totally purple except for the roof).

Third Hypothesis

Winter

Shadow

9.00: The West and North facades are shaded, part of the West and South facades are enlightened.
12.00: The West front starts to receive light except for the backward bodies. The East and North facades begin to be shaded.

16.00: The West and South facade are totally enlightened but the first part make shadow on the rest of building. Now The north and east facades are totally shaded.

Solar Radiation

We can see that the building receive enough heat (150 Wh/mq) exept for the lower parts.

Summer

Shadow

8.00: The East Facade is shaded but the West and north facades are totally enlightened.

12.00: The West, North facades and part of the east facade are shaded (half building is shaded).

18.00: Only part of north and West facades are enlightened.

Solar radiation

Unlike to the other hypothesis, in this one the east facade receive less solar radiation but the west facade is very exposed to solar rays.
