Magnolia grandiflora 4_ES Margeaux Fiorillo

The Magnolia grandiflora is a evergreen tree and is hailing from the south-est of United States. It came in Europe in the Eighteen Century. 

The bark is dark grey, it can be 25 m tall and has a foliage with a pyramidal form. The leaves up to 20-30 cm long, lance-shaped, elliptical, are stiff and leathery, with the top glossy and dark green, the underside rust-colored and slightly hairy. The tree is evergreen, the leaves have a life of about 2 years after which they fall and they are renewed.The flowers are placed at the ends of branches, are solitary and mature in the months of May, June and July. Intense aroma, are from 15 to 22 cm wide,white; are hermaphrodites and have a very short duration.

We can  find this kind of tree all over Europe and it s really usefull if you need some help in the isolation of some project' s side because it s an evergreen tree. 

I start the construction of the 3d on Vasari preparing the necessary levels for every part of the tree ad renaming them as base,fine tronco, metà chioma and fine chioma.

For the foliage i create three different circle on the 3 levels that i created before and i choose the radius of the three circle so that i can model the pyramidal form of the foliage. 

In the image you can see the three different levels and their corrispondent circle. 

Adding parameters i can edit the form of my tree and create other similar.

In our project probabily we will set the internal court in more urban way and so we won t put lot s of trees (or no one at all). We are still managing how the court will develop but we are thinking of creating sort of "fake" levels curves, that will create also living spaces and terraces for the bar , because one of the big issue in our project plane is the difference of level from 6m of the street and the court at 0.0m.
