The tree in the picture that i'm going to reproduce with Vasari is a cork tree, located in my home's garden. Cork trees are evergreen trees that can arrive to 20 meters of height and usually have a large foliage.

To create this tree on Vasari you have to follow these steps:

1) Open Vasari and click on Create a New Family and then, as usual, change your Project Units in the ones that fit you better.

2) Creating the Levels: Analyze your tree to notice where we can see big changes in its shape (for example i noticed that the foliage is very large at the bottom, keeps growing untill 3/4 of its height and then gets thicker at the top). Analyzed that create new levels for each shape change and rename them as you prefer

3) Creating the Tree Trunk: On the first level (i called it Base Tronco) draw a circle that will be the base of your tree trunk, then click on "Radial Dimension" and select your circle. Selecting that dimension you can parametrize it by clicking on the "Label" box, selecting <Add Paramenter> and naming it as you prefer (This operation must be done for each circle you'll create). At this point  extrude your base and use the "Align" tool to align the top of your tree trunk with the level formerly created at the height of the end of your trunk (mine is called 'Fine Tronco/Inizio Chioma').

4) Create Foliage: Now we have the tree trunk we need to create the Foliage: First of all create two circles, one on the level of the top of the trunk and one on the top of the foliage level. Then create a line aligned with the two circles, select it and on its properties check the box "Is Reference Line". Done this select the two circles and the line and then click on "Create Form" and you'll see that the body of your foliage will appear.

5) Modeling Foliage: To give the Foliage its real shape first of all select the foliage volume and click on "X-Ray" so we can see through it, then select the tool "Add Profile" to create more sections of the shape and align them with the levels you created in the beginning, define each radial dimension (remember to always parametrize them), and your job is done! Now you have your customizable tree to use whenever you have needs of it.
