Per la quarta esercitazione ho scelto di modellare un Tiglio.
Il tiglio appartiene al genere Tilia ed alla famiglia delle Tiliaceae. E' una pianta originaria dell'Europa e del Caucaso, diffusa nelle zone collinari, e non si spinge in montagna. E' provvista di un robusto tronco, breve, liscio quando la pianta è giovane e variamente fessurato e spaccato quando la pianta diventa adulta, con una ramificazione densa e compatta e allo stato naturale non supera i 25 m di altezza.
E' una specie decidua, con foglie di colore verde scuro e lucide e terminanti con una breve punta. Le foglie hanno dei piccoli ciuffi di peli rossicci agli angoli delle nervature nella pagina inferiore. I fiori del tiglio sono ermafroditi, molto profumati, di colore bianco-giallastri, riuniti in piccoli mazzetti portati da un peduncolo che parte dalla brattea laterale che serve a favorire la disseminazione dei frutti, una volta maturi, ad opera del vento. I frutti sono a forma di capsula ovale delle dimensioni di un pisello. Il tiglio fiorisce nei mesi di giugno - luglio ed i semi maturano ad ottobre.
Grazie alle proprietà di foglie e fiori, il Tiglio è utile in fitoterapia per combattere l'insonnia, il nervosismo e i disturbi delle vie aeree.

For the fourth exercise I chose to model a Linden .
The Linden belongs to the genus Tilia and family Tiliaceae . It 'a plant native to Europe and the Caucasus, common in hilly areas, and does not go into the mountains.
It's equipped with a sturdy trunk, short , smooth when the plant is young and variously cracked and split when the plant becomes an adult, with a branching dense and compact and in its natural state does not exceed 25 m in height.
It's a deciduous species, with leaves of dark green , glossy and ending with a short tip . The leaves have small clumps of reddish hairs at the corners of the ribs on the underside . The flowers of the Linden are hermaphrodites , very fragrant , pale yellowish-white , gathered in small bunches carried by a peduncle bract that starts from the side that serves to promote the dissemination of the fruit, when ripe , by the wind. The fruits are oval -shaped capsule about the size of a pea.
The Linden flowers in the months of June-July , and the seeds ripen in October.
Thanks to the properties of leaves and flowers , Linden is useful in herbal medicine to combat insomnia , nervousness and disorders of the airways.

Il Tiglio che andrò a modellare è un albero di circa 30 anni. In questa tabella sono riportati, a seconda dell'età dell'abero, altezza e diametro del tronco. Il modello di Tiglio sarà quindi alto 14.00 metri e avrà un tronco di 0.24 metri.

The Linden that I will model is a tree of about 30 years. This table shows, depending on the age of the tree, height and diameter of the trunk. So, the model of Linden will be 14.00 meters high and have a trunk of about 0.24 meters.

Dopo aver scelto l'albero da modellare, ho creato uno schema in cui ho fissato dei parametri per riprodurlo.

After the chose of the tree to model, I created a scheme in which I set the parameters to reproduce it.

Per modellare la massa dell'albero su Vasari ho creato dei nuovi livelli. Il Livello 1 è stato rinominato come "Base Tronco", e gli altri 6 livelli creati sono stati rinominati in base all'altezza, fino ad arrivare a "Fine Chioma". Dopo aver creato tutte le circonferenze necessarie per la chioma dell'albero, ho asseganto a ciascuna di esse un parametro legato al diametro.

To model the mass of the tree on Vasari I created new levels. Level 1 has been renamed as "Basic Trunk", and the other 6 levels have been renamed according to the height, until you get to "Finish Foliage". After creating all the circles necessary for the crown of the tree, I assigned to each of them a parameter related to the diameter.
