The first study on our design has started with shadow’s analyze. In a second time we have introduced another aspect about the sun: the solar radiation. To start radiation’s analyze we clicked on “analyze” and after on “ecotect solar radiation”.
Now we can see a window where we can put some options:
- If we click on the arrow, we can select faces that we want to study;
- If we click on "..." we can decide the date, the hour and the period when the sun shines on faces. For example we have chosen a day from sunrise to sunset.
- We chose units (KWh/mq) and we clicked on “analyze”
We selected two specific dates:
21 june- west face (from sunrise to sunset)
21 june- north face (from sunrise to sunset)
21 december-west face (from sunrise to sunset)
21 december-north face (from sunrise to sunset)
In both days the two situations are similar : the square is almost always lighted and this is a positive aspect in the winter and a negative one in the summer, but we wanted the square’s natural illumination to favorite good and frequent use of this place. To make them we have decided to put the cube, where there are residences, at the bottom of the area. To solve summer situation we might use a solar shield.
North-east and north-west faces are in shadow. We can’t find a solution that was perfect for solar exposition and congruent with our design’s idea. The opposite problem is in other faces and when we’ll study elevations we will solve this problem too.
*We have observed that when we select all the faces or just design’s one, radiation’s colors are different. the color's scale is related at face’s numbers that are selected. So the best study is that one plus all the contests around the area.
*we couldn't put thermometer because we didn't find it in the screen.
