Solar Radiation Analysis

My building have not projecting elements because the high of the circumstant edifices and the proximity of the court-yard facades make it not very exposed to solar rays.

So for the Solar Radiation Analysis I have decided to study the edifice's court-yard to show its bad condition in term of solar exposure.

In all the season the SE facade and most of the SW facade are not exposed to solar rays: this is a benefit in the summer month but it is a big problem in the wintry and autumnal month, when the temperatures are frigid.

Most of the north facade has a low solar radiation in Winter. In fact the higher floors are well irradiated (the solar radiation reaches 3,6 kW/mq) and the apartments situated in the right anngle of the facades have a coefficent that reach the value of 7,1 kW/mq.
The roof is well exposed to the solar rays, so there are confort conditions for the apartments of the last floor.

The facade in almost adequately irradiated with a coefficient of 3,6 kW/mq in Fall, except for the lower angle, that have a radiation near to 0 kW/mq.

We can see a facade well irradiated exactly in its half part in spring.

Infact the first and the second floors have a solar radiation near to 0 kW/mq, the third floors are in an intermediate condition (solar radiation less of 137,5 kW/mq) and the higher floors have solar radiation slightly above 135,7 kW/mq.

The situation totally changes in the summer months: the solar radiation is more homogeneous and it rest over 887,9 kW/mQ, guaranteeing a cool ambient in all the apartments.

Finally we can see from the solar radiation analysis that the situation of the apartments totally changes in spring, fall and winter.
In fact the higher apartments have better conditions in wintry and autumnal months, but the reverse happen in the spring months.

The central apartments (third and fourth floors) have better confort,

In these images we can see the effects of the solar exposure analyzed.

In fact the plaster is swollen and broken because of the condensation moisture in the points where the facade is exposed to thermal stress.

Può essere un ottimo lavoro, ma servono più considerazioni!!!
