After we modeling all the components of our facade system, we can start to "build" them in the virtual enviroment
First of all we'll put together the panel and its stand ("L" shape)
Once again we'll create a new family starting from a generic model
we'll name the family,
and we start to import the two component by selecting the "load families" tab in the "insert" toolbar
in the display window you can choose the family you have previously created and that you want load in the new family
repeat all for a second time to load the second component
you we'll find it on the right side of the screen, under "families" in the "project browser" and you can put it into the project enviroment by hold down the right-click right on the name of the family that you want to place in and drag it into the work space and release the mouse button in the desired position
now you can manage both of the objects in the workspace and set theirs respective positions, maybe for example align them to some reference planes or to one other
To do this we'll use the "reference plane" as we already explain in the previously post: so we create and name this new plane (asse simmetria) and we allign the geometry to this plane, and ending this operation locking all the components in the respective positions.
the reference plane named
lock it all
the result
Now we can duplicate the panel to fill all the "montante" eight
To do this, we use the "modify" tab place in the main toolbar: here you can find the "array" tab, represented by a group of for little squares. Click this button, and select the object you want to be part of a group of the same object duplicate, placed in the position you'll choose by click first on the starting point of the object, and then in the new relative position where all the next object form will be placed
A number will be show next the series, that display the number of the object already create, and it's modify this number that you choose how many object you want to be part of this group
This number could be defined as a parameter, by the "label" tab and its menu.
Here you can choose to add a new parameter that will have automatically the charatteristic of what you're going to parametrize.
we're going to do the same thing for the "montante"height, by use reference planes, height, and the label to define this parameter (h montante)
Now we can create a relation between this two parameters, and maybe decide that the numbers of the panels we'll be determined by the relation beetween the montante's height and the panel's height
So we have the chance to choose a different height for the "montante" and revit will find by itself
the numbers of the panel to fill the new height
If the height for example it's about 2 meters, we'll have 7 panels
Or maybe we can ask revit to calculate automatically the montante's height while we change only the number of the panel
