In this tutorial we'll be explane how to create a new family of curtain wall's panel and then scheduling the parameters we need to calculate
First of all we'll start to create a new "metric curtain panel" from the main revit's screen of revit as we already learn, selecting the right choice in the "new families" window
We'll name the new families
after we create a simple geometry in the workspace, we go to the "families type" tab to start define new parameters to controll the panel
The first parameter will be the material, setting with its relatives features
By create new reference planes, and allign the dimensions of the panel to these planes, let'go to define a new parameter "spessore" by click the "label" tab and "add new" parameter
and assign this to a previously created height
In the way to define a new parameter relatives the material of the panel, we start to define new families type and after this new parameter it's been create we ca customize and rename two differents materials we'll assign to the different panel
renaming the new material
we choose to modify the nature of the parameter, that will become a shared parameter
In order to do this changing, we have to define a new shared parameter file
and the rename the existing parameter
Here it is
to export and make the use of this parameters possible, we have to check the "shared"tab in the family type menu
we also define a type comment for ech one panel types we have preoviusy create
In the new project, by selecting the "wall" tab in the "architecture" toolbar, after create a new specific project yet, draw a wall after choose the "curtain wall" option
Duplicate the type and rename it
Now you can start to divide the curtain wall using the "curtain grid" tools, that cut in trhee different way all the surface
now, after load the family previously create, you will find it ready to be use in the "project browser"
with all its parameters
step by step, after selecting some panels , and help yourself with the tab button for to choose them in the curtain wall, you can now replace them with the panel you've been create
In order to schedule the different parameters we choose in the "view" toolbar, the "schedule" tab
and start customize the schedule properties by add all the fields we want in our finally output
here you'll find also the shared parameters imported from the loads families
To make the features of the panel more evident we create a new families of tag, in a new families by choosing the specific category from thestarting new families menu of Revit
After we have rename it, we choose the field and the aspect we want to be displayed for this new tag
Return now in the project we're the curtain wall it's draw and with a click in the "tag all" key we can tag all the panels, after loading our tag's family
Back to the schedule, that you'll find in the "project browser" window
here there are all the fields we choose to schedule and the different way to manage it by filter and other customize possibilities
Here the final result of the defined and tagged curtain wall
we can define other filter to the visibility of the project to have a more clear graphic output
