The analysis of the shadows relates to the building at Avenue Villa Pamphili 20 , Monteverde Vecchio district (RM) . The pictures were taken the day March 12, 2014 at strategic times : at 8.30 a.m. , 14.30 p.m., and then at 17.00 p.m. During the solstices the sun rises approximately to the east and sets approximately to the west ; so you can see the light change on the facade of the building in question. To verify that it is in this way, I created a model using Vasari , before tracing the plan on the map imported from google maps, and then extruding it . Finished the mass , I set up the shading, setting the time and date when I took the pictures . The facade of the building that I have examined, is exposed to the east and you can see that the facade is fully illuminated because the sun is still down, but to the west it is in the shade . At 14.30 p.m. the sun has risen and the east facade is more in the shade rather than the west facade . At 17 o'clock the sun in its apparent rotation returns to be low, but in the west ; so the east facade is completely in shadow and the west facade is light . The presence of other high buildings very close to each other and to building considered, has an impact on the shading of the building considered. I have not included the trees, because they don’t reflect significant shadow on the building, for the presence of buildings taller than the trees. Then the shade of trees is lost in that of the surrounding buildings.
The procedure was:
- I create a new project: NEW
- I impose units according to the metric system: MODEL-> PROJECT UNITS
- To set up the various views: MANAGE-> USER INTERFACE-> PROJECT BROWSER
- I amount map of the city and the street from google maps: SET LOCATION-> PROJECT ADDRESS-> IMPORT IMAGE SITE
- To polish the floor plan imported: MODEL-> MODEL LINE
- To extrude the plant buildings polished: MODIFY
- Completed the model-> FINISH MASS
- Study of the sun and the shadows: I impose SUN PATH ON and SHADOWS ON ->I impose the date and time when I took the pictures SUN PATH SETTING
- I reproduce images shot: MANAGE-> CAMERA (I can indicate the height from which I took the picture)
