ES_1 Lab_6 : Analisi dell'ombreggiamento in via degli Antamoro (Roma)

PROCEDIMENTO

PROCESS

1-Una volta aperto il programma, cliccare su Manage > Project Units e cambiare le unità di misura.

1-After opening the program, click Manage > Project Units and change the units of measurement.

2-Impostare la vista come "Orthographic"

2-Set the view to "Orthographic"

3-Sotto "Analyse" cliccare su "Location" per impostare l'area di riferimento. Quindi scrivere l'indirizzo della zona a cui si è interessati e cliccare su "Import site image".

3- Under "Analyse" click "Location" to set the reference area. Then write the address of the area in which you are interested in and click "Import site image"

4-Sotto "Model" cliccare su "Create mass". Realizzare quindi il contorno dell'edificio e poi cliccare su "modify" e trascinare verso l'alto la freccia per estruderlo. Infine cliccare su "Finish mass".

4-Under "Model" click "create mass". Select the outline of the building and then click "Modify" and drag the arrow up to extrude it. Finally click "Finish mass".

5-Dopo aver creato tutti gli edifici,procedere alla visualizzazione delle ombre. Cliccare quindi su "Sun path on" e poi su "Sun Settings" per impostare il giorno e l'ora.

5-After creating all the buildings, proceed to display shadows. Click "Sun path on" and then "Sun settings” to set the day and the time.

6-Posizionare lo strumento "Camera" nel punto di vista preferito e scattare la foto.

6-Place the "Camera" in the favourite point of view and take the photo.

ANALISI

ANALYSIS

L'area studiata appartiene al XII municipio (ex XVI) e si trova su Via degli Antamoro,una traversa di Via della Pisana. L'edificio analizzato fa parte di un condominio insieme ad altre palazzine molto simili ed è composto da quattro piani e da corpi scala sporgenti che sono la principale fonte di ombreggiamento della facciata. Il tetto è a falde ed ha una leggera sporgenza che porta anch'essa ad un lieve ombreggiamento.

The studied area belongs to the XII district (previously XVI) and is located on Via degli Antamoro, a side street of Via della Pisana. The analysed building is part of a condominium among other very similar buildings and consists of four floors and stairwells which are the main source of the façade shading. The roof is pitched and has a slight protrusion which also gives a slight shading.

L'analisi consiste nello studio della facciata Ovest, in corrispondenza della quale sono situate per lo più le zone serventi della casa ( cucina, bagno e una camera da letto ) in tre orari diversi. La mattina alle 10e40, a metà giornata alle 13e20 e nel pomeriggio alle 16 e 20.

The analysis is the study of the West facade at three different times of the day. The morning at 10:40 a.m., at 1:20 p.m. and in the afternoon at 4:20 p.m. 

Ore 10.40: la facciata risulta completamente in ombra. Ciò significa che la mattina la palazzina non riceve soleggiamento sul lato Ovest e quindi in inverno le stanze poste su questo fronte sono piuttosto fredde.

10.40 a.m.: the facade is entirely shaded. It means that in the morning the building doesn't receive sunshine on the West side and so the rooms that are located on this front are cold.

Ore 13.20: la facciata è parzialmente in ombra. Questo è un bene perchè ciò significa che nelle ore più calde la facciata non è particolarmente assolata ma neanche in ombra, quindi si hanno ambienti confortevoli.

1.20 p.m.: the facade is partially shaded. This is a good thing because it means that in the hottest hours the facade is not particoularly in the sun but not even in the shadow, so we have comfortable rooms.

Ore 16.20: la facciata è completamente al sole , se non per un albero che fa ombra su una parte di essa. Ciò è sicuramente positivo in inverno.

4.20 p.m.: the facade is completely in the sun, if not for a tree that casts a shadow on a part of it. This is sure positive in winter.

In realtà vi è una gran quantità di alberi nei dintorni della palazzina ma essi non vanno a modificare le ombre sulla facciata,almeno nelle ore prese in analisi.

In fact there are a lot of trees around the building, but they don't change the shadows on the facade, at least at the analysis times. 

Analizzando la stessa facciata in estate, ho potuto notare come questa sia totalmente in ombra dall'alba fino alle ore 12, parzialmente ombreggiata fino alle ore 13, per poi rimanere completamente soleggiata fino alle 18 circa. Questo comportamento non è molto diverso da quello invernale però comporta benefici e problemi diversi nelle due stagioni. In inverno infatti una facciata completamente in ombra fino alle 11e30 circa comporta ambienti freddi e non confortevoli,mentre in estate tale ombreggiamento potrebbe essere positivo. Il soleggiamento pomeridiano, al contrario, comporta beneficio in inverno,mentre in estate comporta che le stanze corrispondenti alla facciata ovest siano troppo esposte al sole e quindi non confortevoli. 

Analysing the same facade in the summer, I could see that it is totally in the shade from sunrise until 12:00 a.m., partially shaded until 1:00 p.m. and then remains completely sunny until about 6:00 p.m. This behaviour is not very different from the winter, but leads to several benefits and problems in the two seasons. In the winter a facade completely shaded until about 11:30am involves cold and uncomfortable environments, while in the summer the shading could be beneficial. The afternoon sunshine, on the contrary, is a benefit in the winter, while in the summer the rooms corresponding to the west facade are too exposed to the sun and therefore they are uncomfortable.

Le altre facciate della palazzina non hanno aggetti o sporgenze che possano creare delle ombre su di esse e non vi sono alberi o altri palazzi adiacenti che possano fare ombra su di esse. Le facciate a Nord,Sud e ad Est quindi risultano sempre o tutte assolate o tutte in ombra, in qualsiasi ora del giorno.

 The othet facades of the building don't have projections or protusions that can create shadows on them and there are no trees or other buildings that can create shadows on them. So the North,South and East facades are always or totally in the Sun or totally in the shadow, at any time of the day.
