I used the first plano f the first exercise. But I want to characterize my building with its main architectonic elements such as balconies.

-        Click on Model- set- pick a plane to choose the place on which I can create the balconies

-        Click on Create Mass to model architectonic elements.

I want to analyze solar radiation  on my building in different periods of the year.

-        Click on Analyze- solar radiation and there I can choose the periodo f my analysis.

Analysis

I choose two different period to analyze my building’s behavior: summer period ( from 21th june to 23th september) and winter one ( from 21th december to 21th march).

 

Summer period_ north- east/ south- east

During this period the part of the building with the higher temperature ( 470 kw/mq)  is the roof: in fact in the summer the sun is very high and there is no thing that protects it. The temperature of the ground is very high where there is no trees or buildings. But between building the temperature is lower: the buildngs create shadows. The temperature of  north-east  front is much more low then others. In the other front ( south- east) the balconies create a protection of facade: in the middle of it in fact the temperature in lower.

Summer period_ north- west/ south-west

The behavior of this facada the behaviour is the same: one front in completaly in shadow, so the temperature is no high. In the other front balconies create shadow in same parts of facada.

 

Winter period

The max temperature during the winter is 116 kw/mq on the roof. In both fronts the balconies have got a higher temperature than facada (in particolar the last one). There are some parts of ground in shadow: in particolar in the private areas ( in the internal enclosure).

 

Observations

We can find on the enclosure’s walls the effects of bad exposition ( the blue parts in the solar analysis): in particolar I can take a photo to the external enclosures only. Infact there are private areas next to the building. In the photos we can find spots of humidity and mosses.
