4_ES Vegetation - Acacia (Albizia Julibrissin)

Acacia - Albizia julibrissin

I photographed this tree in the parking lot of my building. It is a medium-sized tree. It is native of Asia, common in Italy since 1700. The trunk is straight with smooth bark and tends to crack with the passing of the years. This tree can reach 12-13 meters in height, developing a wide foliage like an umbrella. The foliage is delicate and light with many small, bright green, oval  leaves . During the summer it produces fragrant flowers instead in autumn  produces fruits that dry and contain seeds. It is a very common plant used as tree-road. This tree grows  in a sunny or partially shady locations. It doesn't suffer the cold, but some young branches can be damaged by it. It is resistant to pollution and salt.
This tree grows well in any ground.

In this moment the foliage isn't yet flowered.
In my opinion, this tree has a flaw: during the summer months it loses a sticky substance by its flowers, very difficult to wash off by cars. So, the neighbourhood decided to cut its branches.

The first thing I did was measuring the basic distances of the tree in my parking lot. Then I sketched it to find proportionally the other measures.
I started the application Vasari and selected NEW CONCEPTUAL MASS under FAMILIES. I set to centimeters the units in MANAGE -> PROJECT UNITS. Then I created two levels which I named TERRENO and FINE TRONCO.

I created a circle on TERRENO and then I did a reference line (in DRAW -> REFERENCE) on the reference plane and aligned it to the other one. Then I closed the lock. I selected both the line and the circle and selected CREATE FORM to do the trunk of the tree.

I selected the lower profile of the cilinder and selected EDIT PROFILE , the circle became pink and I selected DIMENSION ->RADIAL DIMENSION.
I gave a dimension to the circle and then I gave to the dimension a LABEL since there was no label. I selected <ADD PARAMETER> to create a new one. I named it RAGGIO TRONCO.

I gave the same label to the top profile of the cilinder. I created other three levels named CHIOMA 1, CHIOMA 2, CHIOMA 3 and made a series of circles on each level. Then I aligned and restricted the circles to the respective levels and made reference line. I gave to the model linear dimensions to the heights, then I gave a label to each linear dimension.

I created the foliage with the same method of the trunk. On FAMILY TYPES I can change every parameteres of each label to obtain the model that I want. I created a NEW FAMILY TYPE named ACACIA 6.20 m and then I gave the dimension of my tree.

In the end I inserted my family in the model of my house.

The trees are optimal for shading the cars in summer but, as I stated previously, a big flaw is that its flowers loses a sticky substance that sticks to the cars.
