Procedimento:

- Dopo aver avviato Autodesk Vasari per prima cosa localizzo il gruppo di edifici di cui mi interessa l'analisi solare, per fare ciò vado su "Set Location" e inserisco l'indirizzo.

- A questo punto, visto che Vasari lavora in feet/inches, modifico l'unità di misura andando su Manage> Project Units>length=m, area=mq.

My building is located to the north of Rome, Settebagni, salaria street n ° 1410. It's a family building with three floors and a penthouse with a terrace. There's a private garden of the building, too. Having no other buildings that could shade the facade, i realized the balconies and trees (fir trees about 12 meters). The main facade remains in the shade until about 12:00 (because it's almost completely exposed to the west).

L'edificio analizzato è a pianta rettangolare con un basamento di servizi commerciali e 3 piani di appartamenti. Lunghi balconi decorano le quattro facciate per tutta la loro lunghezza. La mia abitazione è situata al primo piano e si affaccia su tre lati dell'edificio: - una camera da letto a Nord - una camera da letto e un bagno a Sud - due camere da letto, cucina e salone ad Ovest.

Dopo aver aperto Vasari:

0)Clicco su Manage

1)Cambio innanzitutto unità di misura cliccando su "Project Units" e impostando meters al posto di inches/feet.

2)Da "Perspective views" passo ad "Orthographic" che mi permette di lavorare sull'edificio senza distorcerne la forma.

Steps I followed to create my solar analysis:

- I changed the PROJECT UNITS (MODEL TAB) into metric system
- I assured myself I was using the ORTOGRAPHIC VIEW (MANAGE TAB)
- I set up the correct address and I imported the map (clicking SET LOCATION under the cube on the right side of the screen)
- I created masses (MODEL TAB) and then I extruded my simple solids ( trying to recreate the real buildings I counted 3 metres of heights for each floor outside the ground)-> FINISH MASS
- I clicked on SUN PATH -> SUN SETTINGS (to set the same time I shot the pictures)
