Since we had to deliver promptly area calculations of materials that the manufacturer of our home have to order we had to model quickly each missing surface (these are mainly finishing materials).

Having lack of time and being it our only urgent need we chose to model family types as large as each wall.

In the example below I chose to show the north wall of the 3D Core that lacked of the finishing coating in wood

Let's suppose you have already modeled a full project on Revit, with all his families, parameters and material. Then somebody asks you to send him some peculiar information on the Life Cycle Analysis of your building.

Of course the most influencing elements are the materials themselves, considering their volume, mass, lifespan, transportation method and distance from the manufacturer and even to their end of life assessment.

Come prima consegna ho deciso di modellare un radiatore del gruppo Runtal ed in particolare il modello Velum per la sua particolare forma sinuisodale. Per ottenere un modello fedele all’originale ho deciso di partire da una pianta in cad scaricata dalla casa produttrice. Purtroppo la Runtal non mette a disposizione i file dwg quindi dalla scheda tecnica in pdf ho estratto il dwg con illustator e poi, dopo averlo pulito un minimo l’ho importato in revit.

Dopo aver ottenuto le dimensioni di tutti i pezzi che compongono la mia facciata, so che si tratta di 36 pezzi disposti in maniera diversa, con un periodo positivo di 18 pezzi, tuttavia so che in realtà sono effettivamente 9 pezzi diversi che si ripetono specchiandosi, quindi tutto quello di cui ho bisogno è il disegno di 9 pezzi da mandare al taglio.
