As images show, a componente devoto protoytipe is fully assemblied. What we need now is to analize acoustics and design a final version, thinking a lot about the sitting.

ComponenteDevoto process history is moving to 2010 site from now on.

In my first meeting with mr. Devoto, he suggested me to re-think the whole design for productive reasons.

Departing from this, i made different acoustic considerations, given the lack of possibility to analyze the situation with RAMSETE.

understanding acoustics

In this crucial phase of the projet i moved to prof. F.Bianchi and arch. Giancarlo Bianchi firm.

Together with them i entered into an acoustic definition of the problem, while we started discovering that our attempt to make acoustic analysis on such-a-scale 3d model was going to sank.

In this first phase we analized acoustic using RAMSETE a pyramid tracing software -totally unfit for this kind of analysis. 

a first geometrical (and useless) approch

Just after publishing the problem, i went deep into a revit parametric modeling of a reflective structure.

This approach wasn't suddenly identified as wrong beacuse of lack of information about acustic side of the problem, therefore i lost a lot of time looking after it.

ComponenteDevoto_2009 summary

ComponenteDevoto is the former name for a project come out of TecnicheParametriche2009 course. Course indeed has an agreement with DevotoArredamenti, a furniture business in cisterna di latina (IT), for fabricating best design come out of an internal competition within the course.

ComponenteDevoto_Prototype fabrication & assembly

Last week i've been fabricating a prototype of my component at Devoto's.

What we've made is the diffusive part of it: we succeded in assemblying two modules, while the other four plus a very rough sitting will be fabricated next week. Starting from data i've produced (see last posts), process has involved these steps:

Departing from the last post, i continue explaining how it is possible to sort data out of geometry. I will talk to mr. Devoto soon departing from what i've produced, in order to understand how to make a prototype for ComponenteDevoto.

 In the end we arrived to the protyping phase. 

Nevertheless, i must say that in Roma me, stefano and prof. Bianchi together we have not found instruments in order to make acoustic analisys on to-scale models. Therefore the only possible strategy today seems to be prototyping a real scale ComponenteDevoto's diffusive system, in a configuration we find interesting, and look for results by analysing it.

In order to develop acoustic test on my component, to be held in september, I publish this page: I wish i could collect and publish comments and ideas on it. This way, this page wants to be just a start up, to be reviewed and updated and commented.



Acoustic Tests will investigate potentials of my component via a number of 1:10 to scale model. Here it is a brief project of it.
